No, I'm not designing Extreme 40s. I would, however, like to better understand the state of the art these boats epitomize. Does anyone know a source with detailed specs (hull beam, lbs/in immersion, daggerboard and rudder dimensions, etc, etc) and/or standard construction scantlings (inner and outer skin thickness and material, foam/honeycomb thickness and density, webs/frames/bulkhead layouts, etc.)
Also, any info on rig weights and scantlings would be appreciated (as a kite sailer, I'd like to know, for instance, the all-up weight of the hull platform complete, minus the rig and sails, just for instance :-) What section do they use for crossbeams?
Any information is appreciated.

Two things:
First, the Formula 40s are very different in displacement and construction compared to the Extreme 40s. So suggesting someone interested in the state-of-the-art should call someone who owns an old F40 is just plain silly.
Second, don't ever post anyone's personal information on the internet without their expressed consent. This is not the first time you have done this. Knock it off.

Mister B,Keith Notary is a friend of mine-and his information is available on the internet. Mind your own business. Keith-an Olympic Class Tornado sailor- and one of the foremost multihull sailors in the world is up to date on everything that is happening in high performance multies.

I know who Keith is, you psycho. I doubt he has the construction details of the Extreme 40s.
If Keith is a "friend" of yours you would know whether or not his contact info is correct, poseur.
If he has posted his contact info on the 'net himself point to it, don't post it yourself.
From your first ignorant reply on this thread it is apparent you don't understand the F40 is about 1.5x the displacement of the X40. One has nothing to do with the other.

This is very much what I was looking for, Doug. thanks a million. Re: Thomas Crown Affair; A couple of my mates were skipper and crew on one of those boats in the film. They have some great stories. Thanks for Keith's contact info, and especially for the conrad humpherey's racing link.

I agree with you about posting private information in a public forum but a word of advice. Doug could delete his reference by editing his post leaving you with it in your post making you guilty of the same sin you charge Doug. Suggest you edit to remove the reference unless you have the "expressed consent" you speak of.

You are absolutely correct. I will go in and fix that.
Publishing anyone's contact info on a bulletin board opens them to all sorts of nonsense.
There are unscrupulous individuals who use programs that search the web for just this type of information. Once even basic info is captured it can be used as the foundation for identity theft.
