Multi-Hull Question

OK through this forum and reasearch I now understand that a Deep-V Cigarette type hull would not make a foundation for a economical cruser.

What about using a offshore racing cat boat? Could this type be lower powered with any efficiency?

Would you consider a top fuel funny car, repowered with less HP as a good go to work car? Why not?

:D and as always it all depends, i mean on mirror flat water you can plane at speed with a flatbottom on 3HP, eta against fuel consumption etc to be calculated :D
