hi firstly how can i check if i have a pp140 jet drive, There is no plate or
marking on the jet ( seller told me it was a pp140) it has a bronze impeller
with a 1mm gap to the housing,i think the rubber bearing on the back of the housing is gone,as the engine was started out of the water and we got a
burning rubber smell, it will drive the boat but at a slow speed it is married
to a v 6 ford 3 ltr essex engine. Hope i made sense thank's for reading

Hi
it's unlikely to be a pp140 if its coupled to a ford v6 A pp140 has a 14inch [356mm] diameter impeller, post a picture Tony

You have then, probably found out that this jet doesnt have a rubber rear bearing ,it has a DU bush made by Glacier Bearings and can be run out of the water without damage

thank's again Anthony.
i have been on to the maker's of ppjet's for some
spare parts, they did'nt mention that baring, I only need a few washers
and seals, the impellor and the shaft is perfect, also the engine is running
perfect a ford v6 3ltr

Parts from Vospower are very expensive but most including the DU bush are available from your local bearing supplier as they are all standard sizes, but make sure you specify stainless steel springs in the seals, these are quite common now as they are used in the catering industry When you remove the impeller be very carefull not to damage the polyacetal {plastic} bush ,these are fragile and costly
