Although not in english, this is a boating related collaborative project that have just seen the light. I want to share and promote it.
http://dicionarionavalgalego.ingenierosnavales.com/
It is a " Galician Shipbuilding Dictionary" written in the Galician language (of course), and including translations to spanish, portuguese and english.
The Dictionary has a Creative Commons licence and can be freely downloaded from:
http://dicionarionavalgalego.ingenierosnavales.com/descargardicionario/?lang=gl
It is posssible to make contributions to the Dictionary by using the form at:
http://dicionarionavalgalego.ingenierosnavales.com/axudenos/?lang=gl
As the Chairman of the Galician Branch of the Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Spanish Institutions (COIN and AINE (http://www.ingenierosnavales.com/)), I promoted & coordinated the dictionary. I have also collaborated with the technical checking.
I hope it will contribute to broaden the use of the Galician language among the boat and shipbuilding professionals and aficionados, as well as serve as a tool for all those interested in this language of Kings-poets and the maritime culture.
Cheers.
