well ya would would you not? he posts for beginners, carefully cultivating a following, but he wrote off xarex, a lovely man, cultured and clever, knockin him off the board
bah,
Paul ya need to grow up ya started ok, dont let your pts tally run away with your head
My post wasn't directed to anyone in particular and any inferring such would be incorrect. I can count the number of times I've posted in the open forum on one hand and I'm fairly sure only one other time in this thread, where I posted a picture of myself.
As for Xarax, I remember beating on him in the water ballasted motorsailor thread, but I left that thread just after the first page and wasn't the worst of the lot in this regard. The thread continued for a few more pages without my participation, so clearly he had other reasons to bail out (if he has). Considering he posted yesterday and at least a dozen additional times after I left the motorsailor thread, you're may be miss informed.

:D Mullet you say. They become dominantly fish eaters when they become bigger. If you have never cought one of them then you don't know what fishing is. Weight for weight they outperform any sea or fresh water fish I've ever cought. Yes, they can rip you up, but if I was into those kind of kinky things I think I'd go for crocodiles instead and get a bigger bang for your byte ;)

I could tell you some fishing yarns, but dunno if this is the place In 70-72 mum dad, I ran Port Fitroy guesthouse Gt Barrier Island NZ, we had 43 foot boat, it was my job to take the guests fishing. Sometimes was a riot 18 people fishing with handlines who mainly had never fished before
But once I did take a fishing author one Ray Doogue fishing, wa sa lesson as he caught 7 species in the one spot
But my fave was the giant snapper I caught only people who know snapper believe the yarn, it broke the trace on th surface I was glad of that it musta been over 60 years old
do you jig or troll for those?
sorry bout the signeture keep forgetting to take it off for gen posts

Still keeping busy at home doing some minor GRP repairs on stinkpots, retro fitment of buoyancy into small craft, issues COF's, small GRP moldings etc.
Also runs a small electro plating concern at home doing zink, tin, nickel, chrome and copper plating as well as aluminum anodizing.
Best of all, I have now the time on hand to build my Lotus 7 replica that was 30 odd years in the making and getting along nicely now.
Wynand, have you changed your look lately?
Guillermo, that's one of the perks of retirement - boredom. With time on hand one look at the mirror through different glasses at different times and sometimes (reads bored) do not like what you see and start experimenting - you should see my "Don King" phase before this pic was taken... and not to mention the current appearance - much to the annoyance of the old bird.
Perhaps that's why she continuously nags me to find something to keep my mind busy.:(
Finally, I prefer to stay retired from boat building and although I am posting again, it is only in the "Open Discussion" section and not at the Boating forums. My website speaks for me to those needing some advice;)

Eliseviv, nice car, but mine is gonna be a little more traditional. For starters, nice wooden dash with classic ivory faced VDO's with brass trim. Body sides and tub will be bare aluminum, with deep red nosecone, bonnet, fenders and scuttle. Full windscreen of course....
Designed the suspension myself and at the rear it has an IRS unit with Ford Sierra 3.7:1 ratio diff. Power come from Toyota 3S-GTE series 2 turbo motor (from Celica GT) with my own light weight exhaust manifold made for turbo and all the lumps of cast iron removed from motor. Intake is also a custom aluminum plenum I built with the original TB fitted. Gearbox W58 unit.
Std motor makes 165kw (221hp) but mine should be about 170kw at least with the better manifolding system and ECU unit. And my car would weigh just less than 600kg completed - power to weigh ratio would put any supercar to shame:cool:

Your better than me... I simply bought a kit and assembled But my car has inspired a few more traditional cars once they have had a chance to drive the clubman. The "snot rocket" as its been dubbed int he street, is the 20V 4AGE (120kW) with the T50. In the mid 90s when I was building her the 4AGE/T50 was the natural progresion from the Kent/T9 ford gear. Now in Oz the engines are varied with Mx5/Lexus/Focus/3SGE being the main choices. Regardless, they are all great fun... 220HP will make is greater fun! The real fun though is the instant power oversteer thats possible as a nice showoff tactic ;-). Oh and BTW I shame expensive cars with 120kW...... With 160kW you will simply make them look silly :D
