Our client, has asked us to help them find a Naval Architect for their facility in South Carolina, USA.
A generous relocation package is provided but only for those in North America currently - cannot consider overseas personnel for this position.
Essential functions:
Lead front end integration/planning activities with OEMs and naval architecture firms Including installation design review and providing guidance on manufacturing techniques required on new product implementations
Support limited sea trials of OEMs initial tests to ensure optimal performance has been achieved
Support application engineering with product implementation at OEMs
Assist in the development of new product technical documents
Provide performance prediction and evaluation of different engines, drive options, etc.
Provide naval architect advice to new product teams on engines and new propulsion systems
Travel estimated at 25% (domestic and international)
Most Critical Skill Dimensions
BSE in Naval Architecture
Secondary Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a plus
Professional Engineering registration a plus
5 - 10 years experience in propulsion systems integration and design and integrating drive trains into recreational boats
****Experience with diesel engine propulsion ***** must have
Experience in the recreational market
Experience with weight studies, hydrostatics and trim and draft evaluation of recreational craft from 25 to 60 feet in length.
Experience in performance prediction and evaluation and basic hydrodynamic principles.
