On production Tools ( Molds ) repairs to the tooling gelcoat, Black in this case.. return to haunt us in the form of a hazy haylow after several cycles.
Does tooling gel Post cure diferantly ? or what is going on ?

It's common to have a repair become dull after a few parts if it didn't cure completely and this under cure can be for many reasons. Check the age of the tooling gel you used, the fresher the better, make sure the area is warm enough, 75F or better, catalyze at 2% and you can use a patchaid type product if needed. Also some tooling gels don't work as well in a repair as others do.

The code you listed, 040 2989, is a straight ISO resin not a tooling gel, this resin is frequently used to make tooling though. There will be a code that starts with 945 or 965 on the pail.
