Attached is a patent describing rocket motors based on using the common industrial chemical furfural as a propellant.
Ok and why is a 1940 patent on what is basically an unusable alcohol fuel in a rocket engine important to boats/ships/maritime industry????????

For those that are wondering here is some info on Furfural:

It was a 1962 patent.
And furfural is not an alcohol.
I suggest you re-read your PDF file and the Wikopedia chemical make up of this product. But it still dosnt answer the question.

I'll explain this slowly using big letters.
F U R F U R A L does not spell F U R F U R Y L.
F U R F U R Y L is the ALCOHOL DERIVATIVE of F U R F U R A L.

Quote from Wikepedia " Its chemical formula is C5 H4 O2. In its pure state, it is a colorless oily liquid with the odor of almonds, but upon exposure to air it quickly becomes yellow."
Its dirivitive is an alcohol. Its the H4 that gives it its combustion properties just as in alcohol.

Ok........so.....the point?

Furfuryl alcohol cannot be used as a monopropellant. Nor can it support combustion. Because IT'S A FUEL.

You mean aside from your complete lack of understanding of chemistry?

Are you on drugs?????
As you say, a FUEL CANNOT support combustion??????!?!?!?!
What do you use in your car??? Jello?

OXIDIZERS support combustion. FUELS are just the substance that burns.
I will agree, that to burn a fuel needs an Oxidizer... So again, whats your point here?

My point, in your case, is irrelevant since it requires some minimal comprehension of a variety of nonairbreathing propulsion systems having been studied for marine applications, mostly torpedos and submarines.

Influencing people is easy.
It's ****** that are the hard part.
