Hi guys I'm new to this forum and new to boat building... I was just wondering how you go about getting a home made boat registered or approved. Does the boat like need to pass some sort of test or something?
Sorry for the beginner question... thanks heaps if anyone can help.

thiscrash,
I think a visit to the Australian volunteer coastguard or rescue service near your town should be able to point you in the right direction for Australia, else the local Harbours & Marine office....
To travel overseas to another country it is imperative that you register your boat as an "Australian Ship" for a modest fee - a federal thing I think. Got the paperwork somewhere, but could not find it over the previous couple of days - sorry.
Look on my links page, Ike's list and find the Australian National Marine Safety Center. Once there click on National Standards and select recreational boats.
