I need to find an electric saildrive mfg here in the states that will handle a 23 ft sailboat. Any suggestions?

Not a saildrive but maybe a place to start:

There is also a Briggs & Stratton electric outboard with grunt - not sure if it is still on the market.
I have a design for a 48V system using a Perm Motor PMG-132, Sevcon controller and a ZP3 right angle drive.

The brushless motors spin a bit too fast for best results with typical legs. Here is a kit:

You can buy Yanmar saildrive legs (do not know the cost) and they would match the Perm Motor reasonably well as they have 2.6:1 gearing.
I have not seen an off-the-shelf saildrive yet.

There is a company I talked to last year in Ohio that make a nice one but I lost the contact and can't find them. I know they have a web site but google is hopeless.

Maybe Vetus?? I can't remember for sure.

The sonic drive looks nice - I wonder how much they cost. If no one here knows I will ask.

There are a number of versions. I have a price list. The Mk II Saildrive is £1600 or £1850 with 2 - 1 reduction, in aluminium. Bronze lower leg £160 extra.
Motor + electrics 36 volts 4.5 Kw at 1500 rpm £3200
UK & EU sales + 17.5% VAT Carriage & packing extra.
The more powerful ASMO motors are also a straight fit, according to Sillette.

Thank you.
These prices would be competitive with a diesel sail drive from what I have seen.
The leg is a reasonable price given the other options I have looked at. The motor and controller are expensive. These could be purchased much cheaper from one of the EV suppliers.
