Could I have possibly missed it? Has no one started a thread yet?
Mines the same as last year – to get off my ass and start building my boat!
Have a great one everybody. ;)

Made one some years ago and still manage to stick to it every year without fail!
Made it again this year and no doubt will with a bit of luck standby it!
The resolution? simple really. Vowed never again to make any stupid New Years Resolution that I can't keep!!!

I knew there was a reason why I've not made any disparaging remarks about you of late Wallie. You're absolutely, unquestionably, brilliant. So don't say anything bad or even unfavorable about him Snowball... You'd be wrong. :P I have torn up my list of New Year's resolutions (easy to do as I never make one) and substituted this one instead. :) :) :) :)

Trev mate what inspired you to do such a stupid thing, now your British you don't do that sort of thing - we leaves it for the foreigners, especially them wierd South Africans, who actually like working (well some of 'em must! not the ones I've met of course, but someone, somewhere....................

Old habits die hard, Mike. I’m still trying to master throwing a sickie. Last time I told the boss I tripped over the cat, fell down the stairs and sprained my ankle.
He completed the sick form with the “recommendation to avoid further occurrences” section with this comment… Watch out for cats when you’re pissed!
Anyway, I vow to try harder – heaven knows there are dozens of perfect examples around us every day!
Cheers mate! Mind how you go then. See? there are two examples already.
Ps - We still gotta teach you lot how to cook a decent curry though...

Didn't know the Afrikaaner could cook anything, 'cept mealie and spit roast Vildebeest (burnt on one side raw on the other, no one has told ;em you have to turn the spit!)
too much Mainbrace and Van der Humm, ruins the brain, not that..........

No good looking for Fanie he's gone into Largger or is it lager? Fighting off the Zulus somewhere (or chasing little boys with sticks) - weird these Baor Trekkers, mind you to be fair they are bloody good fighters, as long as you don't talk tactics or have to think!

As I said they were bloody good fighters! But ****, anybody could hit a line of guys in red jackets - the brave buggers were they as stood there IN the red jackets (stupid sods! brave - yes! stupid - definately!) Mind you we sorted you in the end bit of the old hearts and minds stuff - I believe it's called 'concentration camps' for your women and children, yep the British Empire was a wonderful organisation!! As long as you were an officer in it!

Even as recently as '66 whilst I was on exchange with the pommy anti-aircraft lads near Changi (airport not calaboose) the OR's were treated like they were worse than ****. I just refused to play their stupid system calling the officers & NCO's by their Christian names, causing some consternation there.
I was also stunned how poorly they treated the "RAF Malaya" personnel & the Gurkha. Talk about third rate racism & sanctimonious superiority over the colonial citizens. The OR guys were naturally & honestly respectful of all ranks in the "colonial forces".

Can't spell it, but my Saffer neighbours cook a mean "bobourti". And a good bbq, but they call it something else. Stupid sods.

My new year resolution... to be sober and get some of my idea flying, get a rich girl and get married... the latter was a jest...
No really, I have a village to help in the rain forest with my salary only as a resource ( village name Mahxx Baxx ), building communication and water transportation problem... Cheerio...

That's Babootie - basically a Cape Malay mince curry dish. And the BBQ is a braaivleis or braai for short (pronounced bry, rhymes with fry.) It is basically an Afrikaans word meaning to grill meat. See, we just tell it like it is!
You ain't lived until you've had a pukka Saffa braai lads. Put it on your "things to do before I die" list.
Thus endeth the lesson from this silly sod :p

Little late here, but my resolutions are:
1. To work hard to get my finances in order before my lady moves here from England next year. After my trip over Walrus, I now see what you mean about not having spare cash for a few drinks. :(
2. Float More
Happy New Year Everyone.
