From PC Mechanic online:
AOL is finally deciding to discontinue support for the Netscape browser. Netscape has been around since the very earliest internet browser and has seen many different changes over the years, but after all 8 versions, it will finally be retired from production on February 1. After that date, all production will be stopped, including security patching. I highly recommend switching off Netscape after this date for security purposes.

Never thought this piece of computer haiku would become reality:
The ten thousand things,
How long do any persist?
Netscape, too, has gone.

Nothing is certain in life. On this sad note I prepare to enter 2008.

All Things Must End
Sure it must, usually to make way for something new, fresh, better.

Oh dear, another institution bites the dust.

I migrated some time ago to linux. Ubuntu now have a version called "Ubuntu Studio" which has all sound, video & dtp stuff.

I use a different flafour "Linux mint" and have installed "wine" - means Wine Is Not an Emulator, and now also run freeship, & Delftship. Open Office can read ALL MS office files & export / read pdf stuff. NO VIRUSES :D :D

Mozilla also produce a very goods browser which effectively filters most 5hit & is easy to add more or less restrictions. Browser is called "firefox"

PM me if you want help or further info.

I use Firefox since 2004. Fast, safe and no **** or advertisements on the browser page when used with Google. Saw Yahoo the other day and nearly freaked out.....!

Hi Wynand, Why not go the whole distance and Linux the lot? Do you use "michelet" & those other design applications?
