Hi all, and Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
I am interested in finding lines plans, preferrably electronic, for a 100 foot freighter/trawler style design.
I have done numerous sesrches for many months looking so far but have come up with nothing as yet.
My plan is to use such a set as the basis of the design for the superstructure and GA plans, then get a NA to do the final drawings and calculations before construction.
I have already created the design in Photoshop, just need now to be able to get it into a CAD file somehow to keep playing with it. I expect to be starting construction in about 18 to 24 months.

Landie, Join the frey, show what you have and let the "wolves" have a feeding frenzy, then as things settle down, lines may appear to illustrate a point of argument.
Endure the pain for a good end result. It is a case of any publicity is good publicity if it attracts useful info out of the storm. Harvest the rain not the lightning & good luck, it may take longer than you think.

Pics of design so far, and yes I know it is a stretched Nordhavn, but the end boat will be very different to this basic concept
pm me with length breadth depth and email address and I'll see what I can do. I have something here that might suit ou.

mmmmmm, thanks Pericles, there are a few good ideas there, also one of the worst looking boats I have ever seen (you know the one), I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Thanks mate.

Anyone have any ideas?
I can probably help, I've got a 102' composite (solid glass) displacement motor yacht, but we'll have to sort out protection so another NA doesn't end up with my intellectual property. Send me an email or give me a call.

Thanks fellas, it has grown to 120 feet now, the owner has decided he needs a bit more room.
I have a yard in China where i will be building her, they have their own "designers". but they are all crappy patrol boat shapes with copies of Taiwanese cruisers on top, i am looking for a nice coastal freighter lines plan to build on, I can easily just do it from a std freighter hull, but was looking for a more modern underwater shape, but still singlke engined full displacement. Onlt want to do 12 knots. Using about 500-750hp, mid speed engine.
I would think something like the below could be pushed and pulled into the correct shape.

Tad,
Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for, is it possible to post it in dwg. format?

There is similar stuff in FreeShip & -Plus versions (2.6 and 2.9+)
Landlubber,
Now you're asking me to do work....:D
Send me an email address and state file requirements, 2D or 3D, and AutoCAD version.

Tad, Thanks mate, I will download the Freeship as shown above, I am simply wanting to express my opinion to the owner of how i believe the ubderwater shape should be for a long distance private motoryacht, and i feel that the shape of the tramp steamers was very good, both for internal volume and sea keeping qualities. I once owned a 160 foot island trader in the Pacific, she was a lovely little ship, and always got me home (that is important).
