To all I have aquired a new toy that has been in my grandparents garage for about the last 30 years...I have no clue as to what it is...its of plywood construction with a Merc 700 motor. I have looked in to no avail some kind of ID plate but it has not one. I belive it to resemble a Cowell type. The second is how do I get a pic on this forum so that you all can take a look and help me bring this adventure to the actual water. The boat is 16ft and looks to have been on the ocean a time or two.

Hello and welcome H2O Gato,
to post photos on this forum, you can do either of two things (well sort of 3 things)
1. upload the image to a image hosting site (photobucket, etc) , copy the image code URL, and then in the little buttons above the window are writing in there should be a yellow box with a mountain ("Insert Image") in it- press it and then paste in your image URL
2. Upload the image to the forum itself as an attatchment by pressing the little paperclip button ("Attatchments") above and to the left of the "insert image" button. Image type and size restrictions apply.
3. Upload the image to the forum within your own album- go up to the search pull down menu, select "my images" and then go up to the top right, just under the log out button and select 'upload photos',
once uploaded in your gallery you can just copy the Image address and then repeat as of option 1.
Note- you need to actually being doing this in the full reply to thread page (by pressing 'post reply' just down there to the left), not the quick reply option at the bottom of the thread below it...
Good luck,
Hans.

Water boy welcome to the gig! You say you have this thing in your grannies garage but don't know what it is? then you tell us it is a boat!! Is that not sufficient knowledge? Does it work? Will it sink? (probably yes if made of wood and in the dry for some thirty years!)
Look forward to the photos!

I know and appologize about that...kinda of excited can you tell ? Im just a details oriented kind of guy and just want to know more about this vessel that Gramps had. I have seen the opinions of alot of persons on this site about vintage boats, I can really answer the question...YES !!!, I love the boat that I have heard so much of and am honored to have this part of him after his passing. I dont just want to have it I want to know it and be able to speak of its origns and its history to my family who really did not know this side of him. Guess that is why I want to know more about it than just the basic, plus I am new to this and also want knowledge as I know this will be a challenge. The pics will be up soon, then I can let her speak for me those details, which quite simply, I dont know. Again thank you all.

What did you say you one eyed bigoted bastard of a fat walrus. Put that between your teeth and smoke it. Oh I am so amused by your image. It lends itself to insults of bored amusement.
You are just lonely and missing jousts with Frosty.

Longliner45, Might get there one day, but only got ******** for fuel and no boat yet. Model boat needs growth hormones & ******** is to fertilize the coconuts in Melanesia. All very organic and environmentally friendly?

masalai,
You could power it with ginger!
masalai

Ahhh, but me pecker lost its ginger since the factory moved to Yandina. Alas and alack, the Ginger factory is now gone to be replaced by the usual waste of land, a supermarket. They even emptied (so the story goes) a creek with platypus, to put one up 'round Montville way, where the BMW set sip their cafe-late`.

I suppose they look at stuffed mechanical platypus now and go" oh ah".
Yeah, got the drift.

Thank you for the temporary borrow of your thread, glad to be of service. It would still be nice to see a pic of the boat in the garage. We are waiting with baited breath.

Some pictures of the 'garage' might be nice to get us started - us old buggers can't have to much excitement you know, bad for our hearts!!
