I need somones help is choosing the correct propeller for my 19 foot inboard ski boat. The company, Dixie Boat, is out of business and I need to get a new prop. I know the boat is Left hand rotation. and also does the pitch matter?
If you have the old prop, the pitch and diameter should be stamped on the hub. If not, hie thee off to thy friendly neighbourhood boat or (better yet) propeller shop and tell them the:
1.) length, breadth, and draft of your boat
2.) the weight of your boat
3.) the make. model, and horesepower of your engine
4.) the gearbox ratio (it should be stamped on a label on the gearbox)
5.) what you are going to use the boat for (ski boats need a different prop than a family runabout)
With this data they should be able to guide you to the correct prop selection.
