(I may have posted this under the wrong heading previously)

I've received some good info from this forum about Q-jets in the past, so I figured this would be a good place to ask a specific question.

I have two Crusader 270s. The Q-jets are mounted on top of an 8 degree wedge spacer that has four holes in it (one for each barrel). This spacer effectively blocks off the vacuum supply from the manifold to the bottom of the carb, making the power piston and the secondary pull-off useless.

Why would Crusader want to do this?

Since I do a lot of idle cruising, it seems like vacuum-restricted power piston actuation would be a good thing (for the wallet). I'm considering modifying the spacer but wanted to get some additional thoughts first.

Thanks in advance,
mike
