Gidday boaters,
I have found a bargain 'glass Dragon for sale in need of attention.
I dont want to race her, just mess about on the coast.
My question is, how to get her in and out of a tight marina.?
What sort of propulsion could be installed, and where.?
Ideas.?
thanks

I have 5 hp 4 stroke engine. I attach to a big piece of Aluminum C channel and clamp that to big boat. I used that to move boats around marina.

Some boats like Dragons and Etchells install a 2.5-3.5 hp outboard on a side bracket; ie one that sits over the side of the boat, near the cockpit. This mounting brings the controls within reach of the skipper.
But a Dragon can normally be sailed in an out of a marina.

They also mount them over the side because anything on the transom will alternatively be in the air or submerged if there is any chop!
But I support sailing it in and out. I certainly never had an engine on mine and managed quite well under jib in the close confines of Causeway Bay typhoon shelter.

I have been transporting an old Dragon with a 2hp outboard on the side, but it can also be paddled if there is no wind and no current.
