Does anybody here have any experience with Bruce Roberts designs? I'm looking at what might be a Spray 22 with a cold-molded hull.
I've visited their website, but would like information that's not going to be on their website.

Hi LP
My interest has long since strayed to multihulls, but back in the mid 80’s I started building an Adventure 22. Unfortunately due to circumstances, I never completed the project.
However, I think Bruce’s reputation is without question in the homebuild market.
Plans were detailed and simple to understand with lots of additional ideas included. I had his book too (can’t remember the title) – very helpful and informative.I also had occasion to ‘phone and write to him when I had minor problems and he was always obliging and helpful.
There certainly are enough of his designs around and they have proven their worth and stood the test of time.
It’s a big plus from me!

For what it is worth I have only had experience with his metal boats.
Many of the larger steel designs needed the scantlings beefing up to get them into commercial survey. On some of his designs poor practice such as the attachment of skegs directly to relatively thin plating lead to problems.
Modern designs will be a lot better, probably the main concern is quality of workmanship of home-builts, with metal it's easy to see with composites it is hard.
