Where can I find inexpensive Buss Bars?

The only Marine supplier in my area that carries them wants my first born son for Buss bars ($35-$40 apiece) I found a place on ebay, but would rather buy from an actual online store/distributor. I didn't know if there was an online store that people have had good experiences with that had good deals on electrical components for my boats.

You may think that only boats use them --I did.

Try your local electric store. I can buy them here very cheap at any electrical shop.

Check your electrical wholesaler they should have them in brass with brass screws or in copper(1/4")x 1"or bigger 3 to 8ft strips. Stay away from marine supply stores for this. They usually mark them up by about 400%

Initially, I used to buy my buss-bars at marine chandlers.

Now I make my own, boring and tapping copper strips of the required thickness, width and length.

For good measure, the copper strips are then tinned in a crucible holding molten solder. Dip the strips into the bath and wipe off excess molten solder with (clean) cotton fibres (stuff that mechanics use). As you wipe off, you will notice the solder clinging to the copper strip.
The tapped holes are finally cleaned out with a tap tool and all is ready to go !
