Hi,
I'm using DELFtship for my hull design (I'm a complete amateur but I find it very good, my first attempt can be seen on the site ,50ft cruising cat)
Does anybody know of a free or inexpensive software program for doing general aggangements? At the moment I use a program called Smartdraw but it has it's limitations.

BricsCad is an AutoCAD "lookalike" based on IntelliCad.
I sell it in Norway, so I am not neutral!
ProgeCad used to have a free version, also based on IntelliCAD.
Then you have many 3D cad programs now offering their 2D version for free, SolidEdge for example?
DWG/DXF is a very convinient file format, but AutoCAD and lookalikes are not easy to use the first time.
Here is a list of some free cad programs (and some demo versions with limited save function):

Had a look at two or three of the programs and found them too much for me,
however having trawled the net I came across this
http://www.download.com/Alibre-Design-Xpress/3000-6677_4-10619206.html?tag=pdp_prod
which seems to be a good one :)

:-)
I didn't want to abuse the forum too much with marketing, I am selling Alibre (and Rhino also) in Norway...
