shakespeare shadow

can anyone help i am trying to find some info on a boat called the shadow it was i believe made by a company called shakespeare in england the one i am interested in has a 2ltr 4 stroke sterndrive engine 120bhp fitted to it also can anyone tell me are sterndrives reliable as i have heard they are costly to replace any help would great in trying to track down this make of boat

I had a Shadow in England in the 80's it was 18 foot with a Mercruiser 228 with a V8. It had a exeptionaly nicely upholstered interior with built in radio etc. It was a very heavy boat on a 4 wheel trailer and porpoised like crazy unless the forward fuel tank was full.-
It was called a Black Shadow. I saw another one day that was White,--it was called a White Shadow.

I never knew who actually made it, it seemd American but was not. I doubt if it was a Shakespeare.

no mine is a shadow i have managed to track a picture of the boat down mine is this boat but in blue and white

mmm thats certainly not like I had. If that were the Shadow I had you would not be able to see the shed behind it.

Certainly looks Shakespeareish, sorry cant help then.

Shakespeare Shadow were standard equiped with Mercruiser 120 or 140 hp.

This is highly amusing. The pic you managed to locate is of my Shakespeare Shadow.
The sterndrive on these are OK for the Mercruiser140 it is equipped with.
The boat is extremely fun.
