Mokai Powered Kayak

This is one of the coolest little powerboats I've ever seen. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with it?

The design is interesting but I wouldn’t want to be standing as shown unless the water was dead flat. The thing that caught my eye is the motor; it could be a great power plant for some of my designs.

I own 3 of them. I love these little boats they have taken me many places that I could not get with my other boats. I have stood in them and I am a large man, very stable NOT a kayak, lots of people want to use the word kayak but really it is the smallest jet boat you can ride in. If you have any questions I can answer them for you I have had mine for almost 4 years. I have done many things in them.

Duluthboats the engine is a Honda gc190 with a few changes duct work for air control to cool motor in enclosed area, some changes to pull start and throttle and choke controls for quick disconnect.

Absolutely agree with you Doug!
I'd be interested as to why they chose to narrow the planing surfaces aft... or perhaps it was the other way around - maybe they widened them forward to provide more stability. Either way, why not just carry the beam right thru....

I have not ask but I believe that if they carried the size aft that the pump would not pick up water. I have had to push down on the back of the boat when I have had light weight people in it, or they would have to bounce to get water to the pump. Too much flotation.

Again it is not a kayak but a small jet boat does not act like a kayak I think it looks like a small hydro racer just not as fast.

Now any ideas how to get more toque out of the engine? I would love to do that.
