Marinizing Holley Carbs - Gonzo?

Gonzo (or anyone else who knows),

I have a boat that came with automotive 4 barrel Holley carbs. I think I remember a post where you said you can use brake line to make J vents. Is that the only difference between the auto and marine carbs to make them safe?? The engines ran well with the auto carbs (just not safe).

The auto carbs vent outside. I have used brake lines in a J to vent them in like a marine type. Also, if you have a screw to adjust the float and a side plug to measure the lever, you may want to change the side plug for one with the glass window. It makes easier and safer to adjust. I assume they have a flame arrestor installed.
