I could use some help my manual is MIA. I put in a new ignition switch and its a little different. moved some things around, I had only choke no start, now I have start no choke. Someone tell me what color is choke on the ignition side. Thanks, Chumnuts

Well it sounds like you got it it just needs to be in the right place. There has been many questions such as this wich could have been avoided by taking just 1 minute to draw a plan of what wire goes where. I dont mean to dwell on your problem but even the experts draw a plan, never relly on memory.
Take the cowling of and look at the choke solenoid and starter solenoid, it should have the colours you are wanting.

I'll double check when I get home but I believe purple is choke.

Thanks guys I cut the old ignition off and left a inch or so of the old wires on it. Put everything back the way it was. But I cant read the small letters on the old one. The choke and "on" was fine but no starter. I changed the starter wire to the next one now no choke. Trial and error with electric is risky bussiness.

On Mine The Choke Is The Center Post On The Ignition

HI, according to my book it should be the purple with a white stripe? hope this helps. Scott

on the back of the switch
you have two m's one is black the other black/yellow
B is red wire this is battery possitive
I is purple this is ignition on battery possitive
C is purple/white this is your choke
S is yellow/red this is start
