I heard that ordinary vinegar is a cheap and effective substitute for acetone in the cleaning of brushes and rollers etc used in the epoxy resin building process. Any thoughts or experiences?

Vinegar works good at preventing the epoxy from curing, but to clean the brushes properly a solvent is needed. I usually slosh my brush in the vinegar, work it through the bristles as it were, then clean with acetone to get the (kind of) oily film off. For rollers, foam is a better option.
