The steel Robert's Thom Thumb almost has enough headroom for me, almost.

I would like to add 1.0" to 1.5" headroom while avoiding raising the cabin hieght.

Could I make the top horizontal member of the floors of wider stock and then recess the cabin's sole the desired amount?

Thank you.

You know.....
EI=EI
If you're replacing the floors with the same material, just make sure the section modulus (I) that you're left with is equivalent. Get a highschool student to figure it out for you (figuring that out may not be as fresh in your mind as it is in theirs). Principle moments about the centroid, high school math.

cheers
