This isn't exactly restoration, but hopefully it will delay restoration. I'm considering buying a very pretty 12 ft copper-rivetted cedar clinker rowboat, built as a scale replica of a 16th century Spanish surfboat.
If I do this, I'll be keeping it under shelter but out of the water. How difficult is it to keep a wooden boat from self-destructing by drying out on the one hand, or rotting out on the other? What do I need to do?
