Hi
I'm rather new into marine design and boat building and exept som modelboats and some repair jobs on my fishingboat, I consider myself to be a total nube on glasfiber boatbulding. However I have started to design my own boats using a CAD-programe and now I want to build a real one from my own design. Where can I find information about building a 6-7 meter long glasfiber V-hull from scratch??? I'm also dying to learn more about steps in the hull and how to design them, I have realised taht they are quite complicated. Would be very greatfull for all help.

Why do you want steps and why do you want to use grp?

Do you want to race?

I just wan't to make it as fast and light as possible. If I'm going to build a boat I can as well make it hardcore from the start:D

A v hull is easy to build in plywood and it's hard to make grp as light as that. For maximum speed weight is important.
Building in plywood is so much cheaper than sandwich (with expensive core materials) that you can probably afford a larger engine :-)

When you say plywood, I guea that you mean glasfiber reinforced/coated plywood. However, where can I find ínformation about the building technique, books, websites foreums etc?

Yes, I mean plywood more or less incapsulated in epoxy, and with glass or carbon in areas with high stress or strain or "ware" (from beach or trailer).

We can of course help with design and kit prioduction :-)
Och vi forstår svenska tåligt bra!

Here are som sites I think may be interesting:

I don't want what style you like, maybe something like this?

Here is one example of building method dscribed,

start with reading the bibble: The Gougeon brothers on boat construction, Wood and West System Materials

I'm greatful for all your help and I think that my biggest concern is the build and the required equipment since I will probably design it myself in my CAD programe.
Thanks
