Sirs:

I'm trying to buy a 1986 IMP Freedom stern drive and the seller claims the boat has a factory installed Transom Bracket. I didn't see one.

Don't these old IMPs have hydrolic movement brackets on the prop section of the motor - - as opposed to an actual transom bracket?

Is this transom bracket worth an additional $1,500 to the NADA book value?

Thanks for your assistance with this question.

If by "transom bracket" he's referring to the assembly that mounts the sterndrive to the transom, well, this is an integral part of the drive unit and certainly not an add-on. Exactly what your seller means by the term "transom bracket" is unclear, since we know we're dealing with a sterndrive (and not an outboard).
