Looking for opinions on the following setup:
It is a drive / generator system for a sailboat.
It has a single shaft prop to reduce resistance when sailing, the variable pitch prop can be "vaned" to further reduce it.
The twin diesel setup makes it reliable and economical, in calm conditions cruising speed can be reached with one engine.
When charging only one diesel has to be coupled to the generator.
When sailing the prop can be set to very large pitch and so drive the generator.
The belt drive couplings can be exchangeable to enhance reliability.
