Hi folks,

I have a brand new Jacuzzi Brothers 12JY jet drive still in it's packing material for sale. Why pay $3,500 for a jet drive assembly when you can have this never installed but 25 year old unit for far less. Jets haven't changed much over the years-all they are is a high volume pump and nozzle system. The Jacuzzi Brothers were the original and North American Marine Jet bought their patents and has repair parts for this unit, which can accommodate up to 500 HP. If you're replacing an outdrive or building new and want to improve your bottom line, please email me mpoirier@nhprecision.com and we can talk...

We have a 1973 Signa with a 12YJ Jacuzzi jet. Will your jet work for our boat and is it complete? What is the cost of the assembly plus the shipping to Gas City, Indiana, 46933, and how long would it take for us to receive it.

Before you get too technical. Have you very carefully cleaned out ANY scraps of anything in the drive? Checked and straightned or repaired the intake grates? Measured the impellor clearences? Is the impellor positioned correctly? Checked impellor runout or the amount of wobble it has? Bearing wear? If all that is O K. I can't help you.

Can someone please tell me - on the exhaust pipes (that are half way down the back of the boat) on a jet boat, is the outer flap supposed to be so loose that it flops around in the breeze? AND where does the rubber gasket go that keeps the water out of the exhaust pipes while launching the boat? We've been trying to find a diagram of the inside & outside of the exhaust pipes for a 1971 Sidewinder jet boat. Are the pipes just straight, open pipes until the flap attaches at the end or is there something internally like a rubber gasket that needs to be inside the pipe? When we launch our boat, the exhaust pipes are below the water line and water rushes in the exhaust pipes not allowing us to launch the boat - however, the boat will not lift off the trailer either. Is the engine too heavy for the boat? Cyclops has already been tremendous help! THANKS a BUNCH!!!! jetboatjill & johnnyjetboat

can any one help i have mi 21 deep v with pp 90 jet i have 180 hp diesel 2500 revs matched to new impeller and new werering .but stil only get 15 knots the same as before with lesser pitched impeller and about 2 mm gap.i went to look at the same boat as mine the owner claims 32 knots ,i have no reason to disbeleive him.he had 160 hp diesel at 2500 revs and the same impeller as mine .the only difference i saw was his engine was about one metre nr the sturn and the fuel tanks were just behind the cabin and mine is in cabin 20 gollons.do you think the weight being ferther back will make all this difference twice the speed! hope someone can help me phillip

If you can not lift the bow, it will not plane. Can you get "speedy" to run along side of you as you speed up to your maximum speed? Look at each boats riding angle. Is his bow higher? Take EVERYTHING out of the bow area that you can and put it in the back of the boat for a test run. You may have to put a person, 100# in the back to lift the bow. Keep shifting weight till the bow lifts the boat.

Just to give you a idea how critical front to rear weight is on speed. I have a 18.5' bow rider 8' wide 3400# 250hp 5.0L . 2 people in mid boat it needs full trim in to get up on plane. Then trim out as speed increases. ORRRR. 1 person, 150# at the point of the bow and it needs no trim in to plane. Boats are on water, Not roads. You HAVE to experiment with weight and trim to live with what you have. ORR. Get the help of a winner in a racing boat similar in size and shape to what you have and let him test it and show you how to do it. ORRR. Tell you what is wrong and how to fix the problem. --------Note, my boat can not plane with 5 people in the rear. NO WAY, NO HOW. TOO much weight back there.

I don't claim to be any kind of an expert in this subject, but I am presently looking at the jet powered subject for another RIB application. I have noticed some references to problems with proper intake of fluids when the jet unit is mounted in a 'deep V' hull form. Do you know the deadrise angle of your hull at the inlet location??
