Hello all,

I am progressing on a prototype, but can't seem to find a prop.

The boat is a very small cedar strip runabout, like the ones you would see in the 20's and 30's, but smaller. It will have inboard power and a Kitchen rudder to minimize mechanical weight.

The prop size should be an 8 x 6 three blade according to calculations, but I can't seem to find anyone that makes small props like this any more. I need the prop, all parts to connect to the shaft, and a 36" shaft if I can find it.

Any thoughts or leads are appreciated.

Thanks,
Stephan

Look in the outboard shops , what you want is probably made for 4 hp or so.

You will need a clapped out outboard drive shaft (to fit the prop) and need to weld it to the shaft of your stuffing boxes choice.

I have bought several of this size prop, three blade brass, made by Michigan, 8 x 7, 8 x 8, and a 6 x 6, on e-bay, usually less than 20 USD.
