Thining Gelcoat: Acetone or Styrene?

Any suggestions on thining gelcoat to spray. WIll acetone degrade the strengths of gelcoat and will styrene discolor? I've heard/read mixed stories.:confused:

Yes to both, for both. neither one is recommended, but people use them all the time. There are products formulated for reducing gel coat to help it spray and cure better, you can get them at most fiberglass supply outlets. If you can't get the right product, you can use acetone or styrene, just don't use more than about 5%.
