Epoxy versus polyester

I've used West epoxy an cloth to make small repairs on glass hulls, with excellent results. If I were to do a large hole repair-1 sq. ft- would there be any reason to go out and get polyester resin to match the hull construction, or am I still ok using epoxy? (not to imply that I'm ok in any other sense...:cool: )

epoxy is much better than poly any day much more macahanical property and will bond better to poly than poly to poly
