Hi to all

Dave Gerr in his "elements of boat strenght" writes about the thickness of a laminate .
But if i vacuum bag this laminate the thickness
will decrease......
Have i to add more glass to achieve the thickness
of the formula or in "elements" Dave gerr considers a thickness without bagging?

many thanks

I think you can use the same thickness.
It's the glass that is important.
If you get 50% glass instead of 33% that's good.
BUT, you might consider a core, even a thin one to get a sandwich effect.
Take a look at "speremat", "spheretex" or simmilar, don't remember the name right now.

Sarciccia,

For anything but the crudest applications you really should have the laminate schedule engineered for what you are actually building.

Only increasing the density of the skin, (more glass, less resin) might actually result in an inferior boat-- just as stiff, but heavier.

Yoke.
