Hit the '<<' full map button above the text part on the 'Spot Map', hit enlarge on my own screen till the map filled the screen, used the + and - buttons and drag function on the 'Spot Map', and took a screenshot which just provide an image and no data and unfortunatly no line of the planned course (which would be nice to have on the Spot Map). The data in the quote was copied from the text part of the 'Spot Map'.

Yrvind is a perfectionist, so when he says a boat is not right, I think he means that there is still room for improvement or, that a different boat would be better for a particular mission.

I would go sailing with him anywhere on the planet in anything he deemed appropriate! (So long as he was still in good health and not going on his last trip to "check out"). A self taught man with alot of experience and more guts to achieve what most men who sail might call impossible.

That Paradox on steroids is what got me motivated to try it all again!

Any endevor undertaken with only conventional thinking will not yield much more than a convention mondane outcome at the very best.

 

I like your previous pictures better as they show a broader view and a line of the planned course. Enlargement of the Spot Map is only good to see very short time development.

So please keep your originals comming up - - (as I'm to lazy for that )

Well, we all get old you know. Seems I remember your englishman lost during that race. I was just getting into boats then and sailing in local lakes with a girl friend.

Seems I read that Yrvind had a rutter break at one time and that was the reasoning for that design, bulked up at its weakest point. The operation is in his video at his site.

Matt mentioned too that the twin keel set up on the beach.

After posting that above about going with him anywhere, I had to snicker at myself as most anyone would love to go with him, but I doubt he would take me! LOL

Are there any more updates?

It is around 15h00 by me and around noon by Sven
not looking good today, he is basically been blown backwards and sideways
the wind forcasts are lousy for the next WEEK
and still he is only around the halfway mark?

 

Todays Ugrib show favourable winds ??
for the next couple of days ?
but only 70 nm in 4 days? as the crow flies.
with all the backwards and sideways its probably three times more

I'm almost sure that most of you don't understand the lingo....but I bet many of you will like the pictures of the boats. The Swedes are such a wonderful people.

Just started reading ‘‘My Life’’, some bits look familiar to me, think I've read some of it once in one of his magazine articles or heard in interviews, but it's very nice to read and has a lot new info and details for me and as a story very well writen, it could go into a book right away . .
