Try to post the mail to Tim’Jak (contact), could also ask to pass it on to Sven and put a link to the thread in...

Hope we don't make him angry, we're a bunch of opinionated critical fans . . :p

    Cheers,

    Thanks for the links..!!

Yes to the Dutch leeboards, they are much more advanced then first glance would say, they have advanced profiles, are a bit canted outside and have a bit longitudinal toe in, last two features a single centerboard can't have (and therefore leeboards are more efficient than a perpendicular and longitudinal straight centerboard -- so I'm told by their enthusiasts :p). And they come in very different shapes to suit the waters they sail in. Long narrow wing profile boards for deep water, short wide boards with relatively less profile for shallow waters. Not an easy task to get it all right to reach an optimum, but a proven system . . . .

Click on this page on the "thumbs", then on "full screen", then on "enlarge", then use the "drag function" to see the profiles enlarged.

Put the URL in this if you want to read the links, but don't be suprised with funny translations of the jargon . . :D

It looks like an utopian dream to have a single system for al kinds of circumstances . . . .

The old Dutch used different kinds of leeboards on different boats for different kinds of use in different waters... like there are different kinds of boats for different circumstances everywhere in the world...

Looks like for the chine runner concept there isn't a good rough sea version yet...

But..!! Let's wait and see if the work of pioneers like Sven will bring a good seaworthy version . . :)

Progress depends on men who persist in seeking for it

    ‘‘ REASON

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

The man who listens to Reason is lost; Reason enslaves all whose minds are not strong enough to master her.

    Money

This island owes lot of money. It's nice to see this thread still alive and kicking. I hope it never dies.

Well I must wish Sven all of the best.
From his latest news he seems to be happy to continue his wonderful adventure.
He has sorted the boat out and he knows what to expect.

If anybody can get news to Sven we would love to hear more about his daily living, what do you eat, do you cook, how do you cook, how often can you catch rainwater, how and when do you sleep.
How much trouble did you have with Port authorities when you arrived a Madeira. Do you have visa's for your destinations? How long will Madeira allow you without a visa.
What foodstuffs do you buy on land and what to avoid.

    Good luck Sven

I agree...it would be nice to get those questions answered. Best would be to establish a non-text based connection and simply have all questions written down and ready to be asked. Something like the interview, which a link can be found to, on the Wikipedia info on Sven Yrvind.

;) Sven is not a computer man, I read somewhere that a friend does the postings for him.

Maybe if we ask enough of these kind of questions here, the friend will help :D

so the best thing is keep on posting your questions - and wish for the best
