Suppliers

Central Boating are in Cape Town, they are the local agents for alots of products, there is a catalogue on their website but they carry much more than that.

Seaport Supply
manex power and marine
Texwise - Strydom park
Boating specialists - Kyalami
BG boats manufactures stainless steel stuff locally and is very well priced. They have a good catalogue but they wouldnt sell to me direct.

When time is not an issue i order from Central Boating, but if i am in a hurry Texwise is right by my house. There are many more if you need something specific ask.

Im sure the professionals around here will have cheaper sources for some things

Thanks for the offer, only about three months ago I had difficulties finding someone to weld chainplates for me. Do you know where I can get 316 SS near by? Im tired of driving to springs to get it.

VR & Steel 012 804 4603, do all stainless steels round bars sheets... They may also be able to refer you to someone else if they cannot help.

I do very little driving, not with the conditions of our roads and these f speed humps and mini circles. Courier services are not so bad. In most cases it's cheaper to get it couriered than to drive there yourself.

Fanie, there used to be a big company called Wilbur Ellis when I was last there some years ago - but a google search turns up nothing associated. They even sponsored the Da Gama yacht race from Durban to PE. I know they had an outlet in Durbs and they had a fantastic catalogue on everything nautical.

The Wilbur Ellis branch in Joburg closed down many years ago, I dont know if it was just that branch or if the whole company closed down.
