Wind Resistance

Hello mates,

I am trying to prepare a spreadsheet using Holtrop's method. However for the total resistance prediction i want to add also the wind resistance. For the calculation of the wind resistance i used Isherwood's method. I found the values of Fx and Fy for each relative wind speed.

Does anyone know if both values Fx and Fy need to be added in order to calculate the wind resistance? Or only Fx is required?

Rtotal = (1+k1)Rf + Rapp + Rw + Rtr + Rb + Rwind
