Why I or we blog or comunicate thru forum

For me I missed the forum because of the exchages of idea, to be apt to tell my ideas, and see what is right or wrong, to look if my way of thinking is completly off or make sence, I think for me is a good check up, and a way to participate by learning a lot, and sometime giving back.
I am perhaps a forum addict, but I am only on two. The other one is nice but a little to constricted.
I like the large discussion about nothing and everything, and the discussion about boat is sometime very professional and enlightening.
Sometime designing and building can be lonely, even with friends in place, I need oxygen, and I think it is what the forum gave me. I can go around the world thru my keyboard and talk to other about the same passion. I find that cool.
So I declare myself a forumcolic in need of oxygen.
Daniel

A beautiful expression, very close to my own thoughts and feelings.

However some are out to dominate others and cannot be told they are wrong without exciting conflict and angst. Speaking of, time to see what's going on in the Climate Change thread.

I think the climat change is a very passionate subject, and the feelings are flying high and strong.
I went there once, but it is a little too hot for me. You have to be a cool cucumber for that. And I am not.

Thats the crux, it's great to share ideas and discuss things with people from so many diverse cultutral backgrounds.

Daniel,

This forum (or any forum) desperately needs folks who know something and are willing to state their honest opinion. You are one of the rarities.....thank you and I'm glad to see you back.

I do not enjoy the discussion about nothing.....usually it bugs me. But even the fools can force one to re-examine our preconceptions and so teach a tiny bit.

Just don't bother with the stuff that isn't fun....

Thank you Tad, I really apreciate your kind words.
And I will follow your advise.
Pleasure and fun to comunicate is also part of the process.

I think for myself its the variety of views I find here
the climate change thread would be the exception having spent quite a bit of time studying that particular issue
I just dont get the dissenting opinion on that one or find any validity to there position

but considering boats the opportunity to learn is unparalleled and frankly I would be a lot farther from getting back on the water without the forum to guide me through the unknowns
Being a kid on the cape is a far cry from being a qualified pilot or actual time behind the wheel

cheers
B

Sometimes, it falls down to the fact you're looking at something with tunnel vision. When you post a problem on the forum, someone can point out the obivous answer, and you don't have to look someone in the face when you slap your forehead and say duh I'm an idiot. ;^)
