Northern hemisphere without a doubt, Raggi. A couple of creel boats. The pitch of the roofs and a splash of colour among the houses suggests somewhere in your part of the world, but not Norway you say. Too many trees for Shetland or Orkney, so looking at that nice little 'Faroese' style cutter in the forefront I'll go for Torshavn in the Faeroe Islands.
Damn, Raggi - I just noticed - you left the Torshavn tag on your Jpeg...
But it was the cutter which gave me the real clue.

This is a really great game. Let's keep it going - but I think it should be confined to places the 'poster' has visited.
Here's my latest offering - two pictures to help out.
My copy of the Pilot Book(rather elderly) describes it as small settlement "Situated in a sheltered lagoon protected from the ocean by two rocky arms called The Heads." It had been a major port for the timber trade. "There is light shoaling-water at the entrance, but otherwise no great navigation impediment. It had deep-water berthage, fresh-water and fuel."
Pictures show the entrance - and an unusual navigational 'impediment'...(not mentioned in Pilot)

Mine is a place I've visited many times, most recently last summer, although the picture was uniform grey then, fogbound. Many old sailing ships to be seen on a day as shown in the picture.

Nostalgia Charmc old son. Pure nostalgia. But you're right of course, Knysna. May have changed a lot over the past 35 years, but I always found it full of 'ex-colonial' types bent over their sketch books converting the local scenery into 'English Pastoral' scenes. Used to be a great 'native' market on the waterfront run by 'Cape Indians'. Best curries I've had outside India itself (or even Amsterdam).

As for your latest pic - got me stumped. Somewhere along the Florida coastline perhaps. Always avoided the place. Can't stand Mickey mouse....

It's obvious you've avoided Florida. The coast is uniformally flat and sandy.

Did you know it was a huge industry here building lapstrake boats for export to Shetland and Faroes? They where transported as flat packs and then assembled locally on the islands.

More than that Raggi, I had the pleasure of 'skippering' one (30 foot, Petter diesel, and dipping lug sail) through the Inner Isles (Eigg, Muck and Rhum) and Summer Isles during the 1972 UK General Election. It had been hired by the Inverness Scottish national Party to ferry their candidate around the offshore constituency. Approaching the isles the candidate (Donald Barr) would stand on the bows and then when close enough inshore leap into the surf and wade ashore to the forewarned 'natives' who had been roused by the piper who stationed himself in the stern. Raggi they are a delightful craft to handle, responsive, shallow draught and sturdy. Can't speak too highly of the design - nor craftmanship that goes into their manufacture.
