When in Rome, do as the Romans do. And when in Capetown, do as the Capetownians do. ;)

OK, since no new quest came up, here is one . . .

    _Where_is_Wild_Duck_WD40_on_this_pic_.jpg
    click pic to enlarge

This is the steel built and stretched Wild Duck named WD40, where is she here . . ? ?

I found the picture here while making this post on the sailboat section of the forum.

No further clues will be given, so help each other, all are invited in the search, no restrictions.

I'll be off line for a while, but once the place is found it's easily confirmed by information and pictures on the web.

    Good Luck ! !

    P.S.

Well, here's a little clue, one of the regulars of the thread wants to visit the area once . . .

That's the Vlaardingse Vaart Bridge, also called The Twist, they are indeed in the same country and not so far apart.

The bridge in the search pic shows a part of an feature that's also easy to Google . . . (but what feature is that . . ? ? :p)

    Good Luck !

    A new quest.
Where is this tower and what it was for? Man in the uniform is the first clue.

I looked long and hard at the younger photo and just couldn't see the resemblance...alas. :(

Obviously, your first photo is the 'South' Pole! ;)

    Allmost the opposite :)
Man in the first photo and Roald Amundsen were friends and "enemies", depends of the timing. The pole is directly linked to both of them ;)
(You see the wings on the uniform chest?)

Umberto Nobile was an aeronautical engineer. I believe the man in uniform is photo of him. Good pun.
