the graf spee was feared as a commerce raider but wasn't faster than the newer battle ships coming on line and to get the speed I believe armor was not as thick as it could have been

That was not living as long as it took me to rename and upload the pictures.....

    And right Angel as well!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhrrghh, given away, now I see I left the longitude and the name of the smaller island on the map! Ok then it was too easy of course!!! Shame on you Crag...but make us a good one!

    And wrong Wardd,

she was faster than any stronger ship when she entered service. And did not need much armour due to her speed / fire power.

As I said: faster than the strongest, stronger than the fastest. Is easy to understand in principle.......

The reason that she served as "Raider Atlantic" was founded exactly in her abilities. She could fight every enemy vessel of similar speed, and outrun all the better armoured. And history has proven the concept right for these days. She kept more of the Navy busy than Bismarck.http://www.german-navy.de/kriegsmarine/ships/panzerschiffe/admiralgrafspee/history.html

I didn't see it as I only saw the teaser after it was solved. Only the guy was not named yet so I took that one. But maybe Crag just knew and didn't look serious into the map. Anyway, please make us a nice new teaser Crag :)

    Cheers,
    Angel

PS - I didn't read well, just saw that Crag had already named the Captain.

No, I recognised the island from its outline. I hadn't noticed the Longitude - if I had noticed it might have thrown me as I always think of 90W as the Gulf of Mexico!

Here's one: Where is it and what influence did it have on which local vessels?

I don´t know why, but it seems we are still in the same region. (not Montevideo)

Has this Guy to do with the fate of the ship mentioned?
