| Huge Yacht....!! Quote:
In a nutshell: - First owner was an American lady. - When launched the ship was holder of a private yacht world record. - Second and current owner is a country. - Badly damaged by a fire. - Leased for nearly half a century* from the government by a business man. - Who completely renovated and refurbished her. - But replaced the steam turbines by diesels. * a lot of years still to go. • Name of the yacht please? • Name of its home port? • Name of the place were the yacht was build? Richard can give clues if he likes to do so. Good luck! Angel |

| I can't say that because on this thread there is a kind of an agreement that the person who gave the previous quest doesn't give the answer to the first following. I hope that someone who enjoys this thread 'just knows' or will search for it. Quote:

| Splendid, Angel, Well done! Have you been there? And a beautiful etching - in the snow! The mill was a tide mill as well as a wind mill, and was apparently used for signalling by rigging the sails in different ways. When I was a teenager, my brother had a boat moored in Langstone harbour, and we used to have a beer and a pint of prawns at the Royal Oak, usually dangling our legs over the edge... ![]() Your turn! ![]() |

| Youe are incredible, loveable, knowledgeable, nice folks. Are you? This turned into being the nicest thread on the entire internet! We all have to thank the lousy "Ex Boatbuilder" who opened it! Now, where am I ??? The hill on the left belongs to a island named after the only proper business which has been done there ever, it has to do with boats. and sorry, I know, the picture (taken yesterday) shows me mainly... stand that please. |

| No, but I should have been, it looks like a nice place! How did I found it....?? Very picturesque image you posted so I expected many pics of that spot on the web. It was obviously high tide and I could just read ‘‘Royal’’ on the frontage. People tend to add that kind of info to their pics. Google nowadays is much to powefull for so many info. So Google Images ‘‘Royal high tide’’ did the trick. The first pic gave the pub + details. Just Google ‘‘Royal high tide’’ worked as well, also first result. After such an easy job it was a little task to search for the beautiful etching. So, next time, some spray . . . . ? ? But thanks anyway . . . . ! ! And Richard thanks for the new teaser..!! - Next post I'll give some clues . . . . Cheers! Angel Last edited by Angélique : 04-02-2010 at 12:26 AM. |
