Ad Hoc, I know not everyone will take meaning from my Holiday greeting, but I still hope you have an enjoyable day tomorrow, whilst we in the States celebrate our day of Thanksgiving.

My condolences. We all have to do the same here due to poorly spent taxes.

Angel,

Difficult to find boat. It's steel and made in Holland I asume, but, was it produced in significative series? It is very difficult to identify if it is one off,

By the way, this is a thread about places with a conncetion with boating, not about boats themselves, but I will gladly accept some queries about boats.

Now, any other clue?

Cheers

Hi Guillermo,

Easy jobs are no fun...

It's steel...
The originals built by the designer have a steel hull and a wooden superstructure because of weight and stability reasons. Later versions are entirely built of steel.

Yes.

There are about 20 built by the company of the designer and approximately 70 by an by the designer approved yard. And also some DIY's. The approved yard and the designer broke up because of modifications by the yard that were not approved by the designer. There are also illegal copies by other yards. So alltogether there are about 100+ of these boats.

About 100+ built. There are always some of them on the second hand market in Holland.

Question #3 is about a place wich has a conncetion with this boat quest

The designer can be found by the rig that is on the design in the drawing though he didn't designed the rig. What is the name of that rig? The designer of the boat has built one of these boats by himself, the one in the pictures, together with his son in law, starting in 1981 when he was 71 years old and finished it in 1985. The '81-'85 by himself built boat has a regular sloop rig. A few plans of this boat are sold abroad. This is a plywood design.

Regards,
Angel

Let's see:
AeroRig ----> Carbospars ----> Damon Roberts, Ian Howlett, Neil (Neal?) MacDonald and John Brickwood ----> AeroRig is the brainchild of Ian Howlett, designer of the last three British Americas Cup Challengers (1999) ----> So, one of the other three? ---> None of them seem to be dead (?????)

I said that the designer of the boat is dead and that he did not designed the rig. But the designer of the rig is also dead. It is one of the many rigs and sails which are originally developed by Manfred Curry. This one was not in use for a long time. Dutch magazine ‘‘Waterkampioen’’ calls this rig ‘‘Manfred Curry tuig’’ (tuig = rig).

Angel

I recognize this is being a tough one, as I find nothing good enough in the english language. Is the boatyard still at work?

Cheers.

to get us back on the topic of this thread...

Where is this?
Made it easy with a clue and it one of the most notorious Capes in the world known for its bad temper. Perhaps the name of the boat can help.
