It's actually my backyard I visit the place frequently. Quite difficult to choose a place too familiar to oneself.. not so obvious to give reasonable clues. And I'm not in the picture.. some tourists from south I think (never have tourists from north )

The little island was only a clue to find the right fjord.. Thou it's barely visible in Google Earth, but it's in the picture as well as the main part of the Tanafjord. Hopsfjorden is a part of Tanafjord and it's on the left after the closest cape on that same side. The furthest place visible is some 50km away..

Well Tanafjord has quite some islands. And I do´nt have Google earth. But Tana is in both of your backyard anyway, being at the border.

What I still do´nt see is a relation to the ship mentioned! It is neither in Tanafjord nor anywhere near! Or are there more than one Hopsfjorden??? What has Hopsfjorden to do with Hopseidet???

There are ONLY tourists from the south! Rarely they see some people coming from the north up there!!! The next point up north is Spitsbergen..............
Click the link "finnish divers"! in my post above! And you understand my question. The server with the pictures I posted is not working at present.

Sorry Richard! I was quite much counting the quest being solved with GE.. In GE the wreck is placed (falsely) just aside of the target (thou the associated information is corrrect)..

Hopseidet is in the end of Hopsfjordet.
The divepages are from Inari, the next county south from here.. know them.. too well.. don't care to explain..

But you have to wait your turn to post a teaser. For that you need to be the one winning the 'guessing race' of the previous teaser.

Cheers,

May I ask:
have I won this or not? Maybe I was´nt close enough.

Ahh, does it matter?

This place is known by all the world, and almost everyone has heard of it. But it was mentioned worldwide only twice, and it was both times a desaster which was to report. Today it becomes a busy place again after some 60 years of being out of sight.
Where is this? And what has the bell to do with it?

I think I'm going to propose a slight change to the rule: If one wins he/she has the right to post a new teaser, certainly, but to avoid the same participants winning once and again highjacking the thread and leaving no room for more participants to post new teasers, I'd say winners cannot participate in the next teaser. What do you all think?

Cheers.
