This is a bascule bridge (left part), quite close to the castle.

Yes Guillermo!

My Internet conn. was so low (or is), that it took ten minutes to upload my last hint.

It is Dannebrog the royal Danish yacht in front of Sønderborg castle!

A beautiful little town, really worth visiting!

Your turn Guillermo!

I thought it might have been Danzig/Gdansk. Live and learn.

Gone.....................all gone................................

Germany til 1919

til 1939

Undestroyed unharmed, and never occupied by foreign forces, 700 years of Prussian culture disappeared within some 3 month........after the first of Jan. 1945..........................
for the wet dreams of a Austrian postcard painter............no surrender.

Marienburg:

The wealthiest communitiy in the known world, for 500 years............gone..

Königsberg 1895, Kant was well known but "Strassenbahn" was more important (the first in the world)

Danzig, phuhh...................gone

they left this:

12.000 children died at this pier within 6 weeks!?!!! Some of them thrown away like crap by their own parents!?!!! Most just frozen to death...........

German Marine forces evacuated more than 3 million citizens (women and children, men were at the front!), in less than 8 weeks in the largest evacuation operation ever (with no gas , no coal, no Diesel, the war was at his end!) Later the world named them NAZI`S, for their thruth, and faith! Others were heroes, these were just NAZI´s........................................

Ohne dich, ohne dich, ohne dich, ohne dich
Ohne dich

Your picture of Köln reminds me of my home town, Liverpool. Sometimes its best to look to the future rather than to look back my friend.

OK,
which one is this ship and where were those photos taken?
(Note: I've not been exactly there but pretty close some 22 years ago)

Now I'm going sailing. Meet all of you again here on sunday night.

Cheers.

It doesn't matter where their origin, the fact is people who are given too much power will always abuse it, and us along with it. We must do what we can to set for them clear limits, while we shed a tear for their victims as we look towards a brighter future.
