| Can anyone name this place. That is me with my old lady and the snap was taken by a Japanese tourist at the time on my travels. The guys from down under may think they have it, and no, it is not the Blue Mountains outside Sydney..... ![]()

| Some clues: It's located in a town founders of which gave it a name written exactly like the acronym of the japanese amusement machines manufactures association Another harbour located only 45 km away flourished as a british naval base and nest of smugglers in the XVIII century, while this particular place languished....... Down here an image from a famous horse riding demonstration taking place every year in the town.

as there are no takers, the photo of me and the old bird is actually in South Africa again; a place called "God's Window" and it is situated in the lowveld or as it is called now, Mpumalanga, and when translated means, "place where the sun rises" A photo really does not do justice to the grandeur and splendour of this place - on a clear day you can see forever.... BTW Guillermo, is it not somewhere in Spain then or Gibraltar if I must quesss?

| Gibraltar is another place that, at the same time and by the same reason, also became (and remains) a base of the british navy and a nest of smugglers.....But it's not as close to this place as 45 km. You're on the track. Keep on trying.
