what size motor?

i have a 14 ft jon boat that has about 200 pounds of equipment including myself, and i want to know what size motor

For most jons a 10hp will push pretty well.....but I agree with Gonzo check the builders plate.

Yup , ten hp sounds good. If you can, find a lightweight 2 stroke, keep your gas tank forward and make a short tiller extension . Small craft dont like weight...you the motor and tank in the stern.

the little yamaha 8hp 2 stroke has a great power to weight ratio. The small Merc 2 stroke..9.8 hp I believe.... has the gear shift built into the twist grip throtle handle. A very fine small boat motor
