Ah well farkit its Sunday eve, getting late and i am reflecting on the weekend and the week gone by

talked a lot of **** on the internet BD.net
gave opinions where opinions weren't asked for
and didn't hunt for crew as well as i should've

so i sat down and did my "boat books"
i keep track carefully of all hours spent building - not stuffing around and daydreaming - actual blood sweat and tears hard work labour

%esus i am already sitting at 180 HOURS of hard manual labour
sheaaaat i was gonna build this egg in a week
what the fu3k happend? time flies hey!
so let this be a warning to all, building a boat is for MAD old farts like me

anyway - all ready for some more tamarow
ahem boat building that is, my dear chap

Fanie, where is she? all my life I have dreamed of playing a 3tit boogy... she HAS to be one of my crew... On the Whitsunday fun race, with her as "figurehead" my boat would win EVERY event

Party Brazilian Style....

Saturday was a monster night, we had a party at home celebrating my wife´s 40th birthday and our 10 wedding anniversary. We had an Elvis Presley impersonator bashing out his greatest hits followed by a DJ playing the best of 60´s, 70´s and 80´s. Food was prepared by cook and two barmen prepared caipirinhas and cocktails. My wife was a superstar in arranging everything.

We had about 40+ people on the night, it was fancy dress 'Elvis' for the guys and period 60's/70's dress for the girls - everyone got into the spirit. The first folks arrived at 8pm, the last left at 5 a.m. Talking round the bar at the start, Elvis took the stage at 10pm and sang til 11.30, we all danced our socks off and rarely sat down all night.

I was attacked on the dancefloor and thrown fully clothed (as Elvis naturally....) into the pool....... that started it and everyone was in and out of the pool for the rest of the night. I guess at one stage we had 10 fully clothed folks in there! It was a real warm night and the pool kept us cool. I was amazed the next morning to find we´d also drunk 9 cases of beer (108 cans) as well as caipirinha, sake, vodka and god knows what else - the beer was for cooling people off.

Sometimes a party just clicks, it was one of those nights. Great company, great atmosphere, great music and great fun. Elvis was outstanding (see photos), the disco was perfect dancing music, I dont remember the food but the barmen worked their balls off all night. I was amazed and eternally grateful not to have a hangover the next day... I guess I burned all the alcohol dancing as believe me, I had more than my share of the good stuff.

We´ve been inundated by calls and emails saying how folks enjoyed the party which is very kind. I guess the message is you dont need a reason to have a party, just find an excuse. It made me and my wife extremely happy to see our friends having such a good time - thats what made it worthwhile.

Get out there and do the same!

Mas ! I'm trying to find her myself ! It's a b@stard if you see something you want but can't have. Who knows what other 'talents' could be hidden down there eh

Hi RHP,
Looks like a nice party. You know it's done right however, when your ears eyes and toe nails bleed Your's looks more like a picnic to me...

The parties WE had - after every one everybody swore 'never again'. One was at my house... the next morning I got up they were still going strong. The second day I realized, good f grief, the whole house is full of bottles and tins. All empty, is probably the only reason they left.

I don't party like that any more. The friends I now have is much more placid. Times change eh

Fanie, you´re right, parties that still go on when you surface next morning are the best! I dont hit it like I used to but I can still achieve pre....tty close to my previously terrible reputation. You´ve got to hit it once in a while though havent you?

Richard, you speak in code. Richard.

I can still do what I did 20 years ago. Now I do it slower and more thoroughly. No man, it's got nothing to do with age

Seems like all had a good time, and congratulations on 40/10... I am envious of things enjoyed vigorously, long ago... Now the fun bits are interspersed briefly between lots of other stuff, but it is now all enjoyable...

Well the ole Jimmy was in need of some expensive repairs so I bit the bullet and got a (new to us) '07 Jeep Wranger Sahara.

This'll set our lil' boat building project back a bit till the mortgage is paid off in March/April sometime. I was really liking NOT having a car payment but gotta have reliable transportation for the next 6 yrs till retardedment!
